Vision and Mission: The Foundation of Reconstruction

The Evangelistic Mission as the Institute of Peace, with the motto: "Christ is the Lord and Savior for the war in Ukraine and all the nations of the former Soviet Union." This is the solution to the most pressing current problems of the war in Ukraine, based on the principles of God, Christ, and the Bible.

Our mission is to teach all states and societies involved in the war in Ukraine everything that God, Christ, and the Bible reveal to us all about war and peace.

The word "peace" (Shalom) is found throughout the Bible and in the teachings of Christ 300 times. This results in a comprehensive Doctrine that thoroughly teaches the concept of "peace" through the most authoritative and historical sources in the world: Christ and the Bible. This is perhaps the only thing that can provide a transforming vision and influence on the minds and hearts of the masses and nations, as well as lead many to become Christians. It is that without which they have become entangled and cannot solve their personal and social problems of a fateful nature—essentially, matters of life and death, questions of their future destiny.

To achieve all this, a dedicated team of the mission and institute must operate, capable of providing a detailed, complete, and perfect interpretation and application of all these 300 passages on peace. This truth must be disseminated by this structure through various methods, integrated into different structures, documents, and laws (Dan 3:31-33, 6:25-28; Ezra 7:21-25; 2 Kings 17:27).

We do all this in connection with the driving forces and motives active today in this space and at this historical moment, such as war and peace, life and death, destruction and salvation, good and evil.

In reality, these are nations that share many common historical roots, problems, and characteristics. For example, the Slavic origin of these peoples, the past experience and consequences of the Soviet Union in their destinies and lives, and the problems of their social structure due to the disintegration of these nations and the collapse of the Soviet Union.

All this transforms into powerful driving forces, both negative and positive, which can and must be utilized for the Evangelical mission here, for its strategy and its content.

Furthermore, all those among them who have taken up and supported arms and war essentially become an entirely separate social group unreached by the gospel of peace (Eph 6:12-15). This group requires distinct approaches and methods of evangelism, having essentially turned into "barbarians" and "evil beasts" (Rom 1:14; Titus 1:12-13).

In such a situation, only Christ provides the keys for the Gospel to the minds and hearts of all these people (Matt 16:19; Eph 6:19-20). He, Christ, is the center and the main driving force for such an Evangelical mission and harvest (Matt 28:18-20; 2 Cor 4:5; Acts 3:26 - 4:4; 1 Tim 1:12-16). All this represents a vital, integral, urgent, and practically the highest priority aspect today in fulfilling the Great Commission of Christ to teach all nations everything He has commanded (Matt 28:18-20).

Today, after practically more than 10 years of war, no structure in the world, no government, and no international organization has been able to prevent or stop the war in Ukraine. This loudly and objectively testifies to the necessity of our mission and our institute. We must, in essence, surpass these structures in the goals of peace and the deeds of peacemaking; this is our task, and it is of an urgent nature. For this, we possess everything necessary: an abundance and consistency of words and deeds, the power of the Spirit of God, the Divine Creative and Saving Spirit (Rom 15:16-19), and this across vast territories (Rom 15:19) and over extended periods (Acts 18:11), as well as for large masses of people (Acts 2:41, 4:4)—everything that secular and worldly systems lack (1 Cor 18:9-11).

Millions of people in Ukraine and beyond are practically exhausted by ineffective political measures and empty promises regarding war and peace in Ukraine (1 Thess 5:3; Jer 30:5). People now want to hear the Word of God, what it says about entirely different narratives of peace and in connection with peace, such as, primarily, the Creator of peace (Acts 17:24-26; Col 1:16-17) and the Savior of the world (John 4:42; 1 John 4:14)—that is, everything that God alone can provide regarding peace.

And our God and Christ, by Their nature, essence, and image, are the true God of peace (Heb 13:20; 1 Thess 5:23; Phil 4:9), the God of rest (Ps 35:8; Ps 4:9; Matt 11:28-29), and the God of all comfort (Isa 51:12; 2 Cor 1:3; John 14:26). He is the Creator of peace and everything in the world (Acts 17:24-26; Col 1:16-17), the Prince of Peace (Isa 9:6), the Lord of peace (2 Thess 3:16), and the Savior of the world (1 John 4:14).

Furthermore, the Church, the entire structure of God's people in the world, serves objectively and subjectively as the stronghold of peace in its communities and as the creator (initiator) of conditions for peace on earth. In its communities, this is its righteousness (Eph 6:14), meekness before all (Phil 4:5), good deeds for all (regardless of morality and beliefs) (Matt 5:43-44; Rom 12:17), dedication to the cause of peace (Rom 12:18; 1 Kings 4:24-25; 1 Cor 7:15; Col 3:15; 2 Tim 2:22), and dedication to the gospel of peace (Eph 2:17, 6:15) and reconciliation (2 Cor 5:18-20). Otherwise, there may be no peace in such communities, or God may allow its loss (Amos 6:12-14; 1 Kings 11:9-14).

This subject of peace is the greatest on earth and the most profound in the world: first, it is peace with God (Rom 5:1, 5:10; 2 Cor 5:20; Eph 2:16); second, it is internal peace, within people themselves (Phil 4:6-7; Col 3:15); and third, it is peace with all other people (Heb 12:14; Rom 13:18). And any person in the world, having peace with God and peace within themselves, will never violate it in relation to other people and will not kill them.

Our ultimate goal is the cessation of war and evil in Ukraine, and most importantly, the highest goal—all glory to Christ for the fact that it was Christ who stopped the war in Ukraine! We envision a great celebration and a magnificent miracle—how God welcomes His prodigal sons back into His Father's courtyard, falling on their necks and kissing them (Luke 15:20). When those who were previously murderers become good conduits of God's grace; when those who took up arms cease to take them up; when unpeaceful people become entirely peaceful people (Acts 2:23, 36-47, 3:13-14, 26, 4:4; 1 Tim 1:12-14)!

Strategy and Actions of the Institute of Peace

To fulfill our Mission and transform society, the Institute of Peace operates in four key directions:

1. Fundamental Theological and Academic Work

* In-depth research, comprehensive interpretation, and systematization of all 300 passages of Holy Scripture speaking of peace (Shalom).

* Creation of a unified, comprehensive Biblical Doctrine of Peace capable of transforming the minds and hearts of nations traumatized by war.

2. Integration and Influence on Public Institutions

* Dissemination of the Biblical Doctrine of Peace at all levels of society.

* Implementation of the principles of God's peace into secular structures, social documents, and legislative acts (following the example of biblical heroes in Babylon and Persia: Dan 3:31-33; Ezra 7:21-25).

* Surpassing ineffective secular international organizations in practical deeds of peacemaking.

3. Specialized Gospel for Combatants

* Development and application of specific, unprecedented methods of evangelism for a distinct social group—those who have taken up arms and gone through the brutality of war.

* Spiritual rehabilitation of these individuals, so that by the power of Christ, those who were conduits of violence are transformed into good conduits of God's grace and entirely peaceful people.

4. Mobilization of the Church as a Stronghold of Peace

* Equipping and training local churches to become the objective and subjective centers of peace in their communities.

* Practical establishment of righteousness, meekness, and good deeds for all people (regardless of their beliefs), making the Church the primary initiator (actor) of conditions for peace on earth.

Time to Act: Why Now and Who We Need

We are at a critical historical juncture. Millions of people in Ukraine and Eastern Europe are traumatized by war. The mentality of entire generations is being formed right now. Those who have gone through the brutality of combat risk remaining hostages of aggression forever, essentially turning into "evil beasts" (Titus 1:12).

If the Church does not provide them with the Biblical Doctrine of Peace (Shalom) today, tomorrow secular institutions will be unable to cope with the consequences of this integration. We cannot wait for the war to end to start building peace. The foundation for the healing of nations must be laid right now, while people's hearts are open to searching for the answers of life and death. This is an unprecedented window of opportunity for the Gospel.

The Institute of Peace is a colossal vision that surpasses the capabilities of one person or a single local congregation. Like Nehemiah standing before the ruined walls of Jerusalem, we see the scale of the problem and declare: we need co-laborers for the restoration.
